Dr. Thomas DunnThomas W. Dunn, D.V.M.

Dr. Dunn is a native of Orange county. He grew up in Mauriceville and graduated from LCM High School. He attended Texas A&M University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He received the degree Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 1984.

Being around and working with animals has been practically an everyday activity for Dr. Dunn. Caring for livestock was always one of the chores around the Dunn home. 4H  and later FFA projects included raising pigs, chickens, rabbits, and cattle. He first worked at Cypress Animal Hospital in the summer of 1977 as a veterinary assistant. While attending A&M, he worked at a lab animal research facility caring for dogs, cats, monkeys, baboons, rabbits, and many other kinds of animals.

Following graduation, Dr. Dunn entered private practice and has been in private practice ever since, except for a brief period of employment with USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. He worked at Cypress Animal Hospital for his mentor, Dr. Robert Hall, who founded the practice in 1972. He acquired the practice after Dr. Hall passed away in 1988.

Dr. Dunn and his wife Dottie live in the Mauriceville area. They both enjoy fishing, gardening and watching the Aggies win.
